Civil Engineering Departments / Sustaining Members

Following is a complete list of the accredited Canadian Universities and Institutions which offer degree programs in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or Environmental Engineering. Those with links are Sustaining Members of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering.

Sustaining Member

CSCE has created this membership category for Civil Engineering Departments at Canadian universities. It is called the Civil Engineering Department Sustaining Membership (Sustaining Members).

CSCE initiated this new membership category specifically to strengthen the relationships between CSCE, Civil Engineering Departments across the country and the CSCE Student Chapters. We recognize the need to connect more directly with these essential elements of the profession of Civil Engineering in Canada.

The cost/benefit relationship for this new membership category has been designed to be attractive to Civil Engineering Departments. For the annual fee of $550.00 Civil Engineering Departments will receive the following:

Two full memberships in CSCE – one each for the Head or Chair of the Department and one for the Student Chapter Faculty Advisor (combined value of $430.00 before taxes);

  1. CSCE has set up a new page on our website which lists all Civil Engineering Departments in Canada. If your department joins as a Sustaining Member we will hot link from our website to your department website (we believe the value of this one benefit exceeds $400.00 per year);
  2. Sustaining Members will have the opportunity to post faculty openings on the CSCE Civil Engineering Department website page, and;
  3. All Sustaining Members will be presented with a metal plaque to be installed in the department, attesting to the support provided to CSCE.

Heads and Chairs

The CSCE has established a network of all the Heads and Chairs of these departments as a means of communicating issues among the departments and to practicing civil engineers across the country. This network of Heads and Chairs meet once yearly in the host city of the CSCE Annual Conference. The Department Head/Chair of the host city’s university sits on the CSCE’s Board of Directors for a one year term.
